Make Tracks on the Mountain Bay Trail
Saturday, September 30, 2023
New for 2023:
Come join us to hike or bike on the Mountain Bay State Trail. You'll be able to begin your journey any time between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM at any of our four starting locations. Once you begin, it's up to you to decide how far you want to go. Just note that all rest stations will close at 2:00 PM. We hope this event will help improve awareness of the trail, while raising funds for future trail maintenance.
The event is non-competitive and covers all Shawano County. And yes, 51 miles of the 83-mile trail are located in Shawano County. The trail surface is rustic, with hard-packed crushed limestone. If biking, we recommend using a hybrid, mountain, or fat-tire bike. Please note that if you start in the City of Shawano, you will have some road riding if going West.
Registration includes map, snacks, water, and an event souvenir. Portable toilets will be stationed along the trail. In addition, there will be a support and gear vehicle available, if needed. The requirement for a State trail pass is waived for participants during the event.
